While fashion, cooking, travel, entertainment, photography, discovering new products/places, and cosmetics are among the main interests of TikTok users, announcements related to shopping at markets and campaigns during discount periods such as Black Friday are also highly followed topics on the platform.
We see that 77% of the user base is buying grocery products based on community recommendations, and 73% of the user base is using TikTok to follow discount periods to prepare their wish lists and plan their expenses.
Another insight about the platform is that TikTok users in Turkey spend 1.8 times more compared to users on other social media platforms.
Tiktok Sector Analysis in Turkiye
Fashion and beauty brands are among the top advertisers on TikTok in Turkey, with many utilizing influencer marketing campaigns to showcase their products. Travel and tourism brands are also leveraging the app's visual nature to showcase destinations and experiences. Other industries that are utilizing TikTok for marketing purposes in Turkey include gaming, entertainment, and technology.
Travel : 73% of TikTok users are searching for new ideas, travel tips, and discovering new destinations on the platform. 1 out of 2 TikTok users mention making travel reservations after being inspired by TikTok travel content.
Technology : Technology brands that leverage TikTok can see up to a 49% increase in online sales.
Beauty : 79% of users who shop for cosmetics have reported purchasing a beauty product after discovering content or ads on TikTok.
YWe wanted to highlight the prominent high percentages to emphasize how significant the data is, considering that according to the 2022 figures, TikTok has nearly 30 million users in Turkey. This represents a large population, and we hope this helps to convey the scale of the data.
