How Does the Instagram Algorithm Work?

Instagram explains that it has multiple algorithms that control what users see and don't see within the app. It claims this is to help users make the most of their time and personalize their experiences.

Different algorithms work for different sections of the app, such as the Feed, Explore, Stories, Posts, and Reels. Users tend to look for their closest friends in Stories, while they want to discover something completely new in Explore.
